RECIPROCAL DISCOUNT INCREASED FROM 50% TO 100% FOR PASS HOLDERS OF PAUSED OR SUSPENDED SKI AREA

It is no secret this ski season has been a difficult one across the country. Things here in Terrace have also been challenging. However, we are far better off than many other ski areas in our province. In the North, ski hills like Murray Ridge, Troll, Purden, and Mount Timothy are currently closed. With no significant snow in the long-range forecast, we sadly expect these closures to last. These ski hills are community beacons, they offer the same wholesome inclusive heathy outdoor activity we do. Unfortunately, their guests are left waiting for their ski areas to potentially reopen. We at MMC-Shames Mountain have a policy of offering 50% off to season pass holders from any other alpine ski area. Considering the challenges some of our neighbors are having, we have taken the decision to increase the reciprocal discount offered to these closed mountains.

Guests simply need to show their season pass, and proof of their mountain currently being paused or shut down to our guest services staff to receive a FREE daily lift ticket.

Community and smaller ski hills are essential to our industry. They play a crucial role in building the skiers of tomorrow. As leaders in the sector, we have a responsibility to do our part in maintaining the industry’s trust in season pass products at smaller areas.

Working together with our industry partners creates a stronger ski community for years to come.

Skiing conditions at Shames recently have been great. It’s not the metre per week snowfall we are used to, but it is allowing for wall-to-wall perfect grooming in the sun.

Sincerely

Christian Theberge

General Manager,

MMC-Shames Mountain
