Monday, June 10th 2024, will see infill material hauled from the Delta Creek landslide site to the base area of MMC-Shames Mountain. On Tuesday, June 11th, 2024 we will be infilling from the MMC-Shames Mountain Access Road “bridge 3 gravel pit” – a total of 2500 cubic meters of infill and road bedding material for the entire project, half of which is for the Base Area Infill. The excavator and operator is being donated by Emil Anderson, and the trucking contributions are coming from Progressive Ventures Ltd, Norco Septic Services, and Tom Spizak.
For safety reasons, we will close access to the base area from Monday to Friday until further notice. This transformative project would not be possible without the help of incredible community partners. We would like to take the opportunity to showcase:
Emil Anderson Maintenance – Skeena, has provided highway and bridge maintenance services in the Skeena service area since July 27, 2020. This extensive service area encompasses the communities of Terrace, Kitimat and Gitlaxt’aamiks. The MMC-Shames Mountain access road is not your typical road to maintain in the winter. Emil Anderson is up to the challenge, their operations teams understand the importance of community partnerships. They are a community driven business who recognizes the value of skiing in the Northwest.
Stay Tuned for our next updates where we will be showcasing other great community driven partners.
