Climate Change Resiliency Project: Phase 4 – Blasting done, Sorting and Placing Materials continues
Our Climate Change Resiliency Project Had a highly successful week. The material generating blast took place, and we are pleased with the abundant results. Heavy equipment in the form of dozers, excavators, and rock trucks from both Rollyworks, and Progressive Ventures Ltd. have arrived at the mountain. They have started sorting and spreading the materials.
Emil Anderson has generously decided to continue providing the ski hill materials as their Shames access road maintenance program is requiring them to do some “rock face scaling” and ditch clearing.
We are very fortunate and excited to have such incredible partners involved in the project.
For safety reasons, we will close access to the base area from Monday to Friday until further notice. This transformative project would not be possible without the help of incredible community partners. We would like to take the opportunity to showcase:
Rollyworks: We are proud to be partnering again with Rollyworks on the Climate Change Resiliency Project. Rollyworks, founded by Rob Geier and Polly Rudderham, is a new business in Terrace that participates in strategic initiatives to enhance the experience of living in the Northwest. As passionate MMC members, they have contributed to Shames through the Enhanced Backcountry Project, the Best Friend 2.0 sponsorship program, and they were also directly involved in sponsoring many of our fun events this past winter including Denis Rowse Retro Day and the Sherwood Slush Cup.
Rollyworks also continues to support other recreational and artistic initiatives such as Dirt club with TORCA and artist sponsorship for the local music festival, Farmfest– coming up July 13th!
Stay Tuned for our next updates where we will be showcasing other great community driven partners.
