Local Terrace BC Artist, Amanda Hartman, has always loved art. What started as a young love for watercolour painting; has since moved on to working with acrylics, mix media, and some play in the textile arts.  Amanda Hartman has studied art at The Victoria College of Art & Design, Northwest Community College, Dordt College and other various courses throughout Canada.

Amanda Hartman’s artwork is inspired by nature and her life living in Northern BC.

She loves the outdoors and adventuring outside; whether it be hiking, mountain biking, SUP, snowboarding or sailing, it’s the love of the outdoors that can be seen in a lot of Amanda’s work.

Shames Mountain has been a big part of Amanda’s life.  She has been snowboarding at Shames Mountain since 1993, and a My Mountain co-op member since 2013. Every weekend for the past 30 years of riding at Shames Mountain has been an inspiration, and it never gets old. This year’s seasons pass artwork for the 2024-2025  season pass is a tribute to our local Lifties.

Titled: TOP T (Love your Lifty).    Sunny days, stormy days, they are up there at Top T soaking in the views, shoveling snow, loading riders, and keeping the mountain full of riders shredding. It’s the unload zone, you’re off the lift, you’ve adjusted your bindings, you look across the valley, and see a storm of fresh snow rolling in. It’s going to be a good day. … and tomorrow, maybe even better.

Thank you Lifties for another day well lived.
