New Ski Season Perks, Personal Connections, and Tangible Benefits for Shames Members

We’re excited to announce a trailblazing sister-mountain partnership between Shames Mountain and Mount Bohemia, offering free skiing and riding to all season passholders at each other’s resorts. This collaboration marks a new chapter for our cooperative and our extended ski family, bringing together two resorts that share a love for big snow, untamed terrain, and the true spirit of adventure.
When Lonie Glieberman, President of Mount Bohemia, first reached out to discuss the idea, I’ll admit I was a bit sceptical. In recent years, we’ve seen how the Epic, Ikon, and Indy passes have invited far more folks heading west than coming east. The concern was that the partnership might end up being a one-way street, benefitting Mount Bohemia more than Shames Mountain and our Co-op members. Lonie recognized this dynamic and wanted to make sure our cooperative’s members felt the value first-hand. To back up the spirit of this partnership, Mount Bohemia is making an 8,000 USD donation to support Shames Mountain’s programs and events, ensuring a direct benefit for everyone involved.
This deal isn’t just about free lift access — it’s about strengthening our community and giving back. American Mount Bohemia passholders will have the chance to discover the legendary snow and vast terrain here in Terrace, BC, while our Shames Mountain members can explore the rugged slopes of Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula. Both resorts are known for their remote settings, deep snowpacks, and a vibe that’s more about shared adventure than fancy amenities.

We believe this partnership will deliver real economic benefits to both regions, encouraging travel, local spending, and new friendships across borders. As always, we’re committed to keeping our members at the heart of every decision.
Here’s to a season of new connections and unforgettable turns!
