Dear Friends,
Time flies when you are having fun! This season, I rearranged my work schedule to ensure I could ski with my kids on the weekends. I have skied more this year than I have in a long time. I can’t thank my management and supervisory team enough for taking over the day-to-day operations and letting me focus on other things. Our events have been a blast. As someone who preaches the importance of community and family, Shames has allowed me and my family to feel included in something special.

Outside of skiing at Shames, I’ve also had the opportunity to venture through our new snowshoe trails with my kids, which has been wonderful. During our Pride and Diversity weekend, we also started selling one-ride chairlift tickets for snowshoers, so non-skiers can enjoy the chairlift scenery and experience the mountains.
Although March will be our last month of operations, it is action-packed. Starting with our Member and Passholder Appreciation Weekend on Saturday, March 1st, and Sunday, March 2nd.
Members and Pass Holders will receive:
- Early chair access from 9 AM on both Saturday and Sunday.
- One free lift ticket – Coop Members and Pass Holders can use the ticket themselves or treat a friend to a day at the hill. (Free ticket based on your season pass age, tickets must be used on March 1st and March 2nd, 2025)
- Our staff discount (25% off) on all food and retail purchases.
March 1st is also the start of our 2025-26 Frozen Super Early Bird Pass Sale. We will be selling passes at last season’s Super Early Bird rate. Buying your pass early not only assures you the cheapest possible price but also comes with either 3 buddy tickets or a spring pass for the rest of the 2024-2025 season. Passes will be on sale on premises and on our Webstore.
Next weekend will be very exciting too. It will be our second annual Kermodei Banked Slalom. Saturday the 8th will be reserved for snowboarders, and Sunday the 9th will be for skiers. All registered participants and volunteers will receive a $20 gift card and a Kermodei Banked Slalom T-shirt. Over $3,000 worth of prizes have been purchased for the event. Saturday the 8th is filling up fast, so please hurry and register before it’s too late.

Soon we will also be selling event registration for the “Piece de Resistance,” the coveted end-of-season Rail Jam and Slush Cup of Closing Weekend, March 29th and 30th. Thanks for everything, folks, and most importantly, thanks for supporting your ski hill.
Ski you out there!
