Dear Friends,
This challenging ski season is unfortunately coming to an end. The last few days truly are action packed; we plan on finishing things off with a bang.
On Friday the 22nd of March, we celebrated our 50th operating day (if we counted the carpet only days, we would be at 53). We are thrilled to announce that we have hit our minimum operating day guarantee of 50 days established during the covid pandemic.
On Saturday March 23rd we have our annual Poker Run Sponsored by Terrace Tourism, Prince Rupert Tourism, Canadian Parents for French, Wild Bike, and what will likely be the most popular poker station, the Top Chair BBQ Beer Garden sponsored by Sherwood Mountain. We will be giving away Seasons passes for the best poker hands in each age category.
March 30th and 31st will be our last two days of operations. We will be hosting our annual Rail Jam on Saturday and Our Slush Cup on Sunday. REGISTRATION to these events is limited, please register in advance to avoid disappointment. Registration for either event comes with a complimentary closing weekend T-shirt.
It is no secret that we are losing snow very fast. We are making plans for every eventuality. Rest assured, the Rail Jam and Slush Cup ARE HAPENNING! Loads of prizes are ready for the weekend ($1000 cash being given away on Sunday). We have two different bands playing on Saturday, our very own Farmer Cam with the Rutabaga Dirtbags, followed by the Stanfield’s. On Sunday the 31st, DJ Avalanche from Smithers will be getting the music going for the slush cup on Sunday.
The portable Sauna will be back by popular demand for the overnight parking crowd to enjoy. We will also be bringing in a few Porta Potties to place in lower parking lot to supplement out outside washrooms, and to have a spot closer to where the Overnight Parking community will be. We would like to thank our closing weekend sponsors, Sherwood, Rollyworks and Unbound.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank each one of you for helping us make, what could have been a disastrous season, into a successful one. We pivoted and innovated at every step and our close-knit community stepped up. Let’s make the final few days of this season as memorable as possible.
