Dear Friends,

This Saturday we will be offering a soft opening of Shames Mountain. We know that all of you are extremely excited to be skiing our beloved Shames Mountain. We wish we were working towards having the full mountain open for this weekend, but it appears we will instead focus on the Green Carpet. Mother nature is putting last summer’s water mitigation and earthworks to the test with over 100 mm of rain falling on the slopes this week. The rain will start turning back to snow tonight, slowly working its way to the base by Saturday morning.

The good news is that the water mitigation is working extremely well and is keeping most of the water moving away from the slopes. Unfortunately, the water is now collecting in the newly infilled base area. Our teams are working hard to redirect the water and prevent it from pooling; fortunately, we got a bit of practice with this task last season.

Come join us this weekend for the mountain’s soft opening.

  • The Day Lodge will be open as per usual from 9 am to 4 pm,
  • Warm up, boot up
  • Access to the washrooms
  • Pass pickup
  • Candy bags, hot chocolate and confectionary products for sale.
  • Retail and Christmas shopping
  • The FREE Green Carpet Will operate from 11 to 3 pm.
  • Rentals and Lessons and Tune ups both days.
  • Uphill Day Tickets will be complimentary to season pass holders.

Thank you so much for everyone’s support and patience, we very much look forward to welcoming you back for another great ski season.

Ski you Soon
