In Memory of Mr. Denis Rowse, MMC-Shames Mountain is honoured to celebrate one of its biggest supporters on Saturday, March 21st, 2026. This event is dedicated to his legacy and contributions to the mountain community.

It will be an unforgettable day of nostalgia, skiing, and groovy beats! Participate in the retro best costume contest and other exciting activities for a chance to win fantastic prizes. It’s time to show off your retro style.
Event Highlights:

9.30am – 4:000pm – regular lift operations

12:.00pm – 4.00pm – DJ

2:30pm – Rip n Run (party lap) on AOT

4:30 pm – Best Retro Costume Winner Announced

A note about Denis from his daughter, Hilary Cassady:

“Dad’s favourite drink was scotch but he could put back just about anything especially rum and eggnog. He skiied until he was 93 and his favourite run was AOT.  He only stopped skiing cuz he broke his leg while trying to show off for the young girls at the chalet (going off a jump).”
